I believe the mouth is the WINDOW TO YOUR HEALTH. I also think that as individuals we need to take care of our health-nobody else will do it for us.

For some reason, the United States continues to allow certain food additives in processed foods. Many other countries around the world have already taken action to prohibit their use. I am personally rather tired of hearing everything on the planet causes cancer, but on the other hand, I don’t want to be stupid and eat things that are potentially hazardous. Since I am a big believer in the PALEO DIET, I try to follow most of their basic formula which is to eat as our caveman predecessors ate essentially. Basically, that eliminates all processed foods from our diets. Let’s look at what processed food is.

Processed foods mean that we have transformed one food into something else. An example would be grinding up peanuts to make peanut butter. That sounds simple and easy but if you read the label on the peanut butter jar, you will notice that many other things have been added to those peanuts. I am currently looking at the label on one jar of peanut butter says it is NATURAL??? Those ingredients are listed in order-PEANUTS, SUGAR, PALM OIL, SALT, AND MOLASSES. Which one of those sounds natural to you? I also find it appalling that SUGAR is
listed and then also MOLASSES. I suppose that is why this particular jaw of peanut butter has 4 grams of SUGAR in 2 tablespoons!! Many different brands of peanut butter exist and there are numerous different types of chemicals. I have called the companies to ask what all these chemicals are about, and my interpretation is that these chemicals help the peanuts to survive riding in trucks for delivery and possibly sitting on the shelf at the grocery store for a long time.

It is easy to figure out that the caveman did not eat anything processed, which means he had no man-made chemicals and no SUGAR. In my opinion, I don’t want to eat chemicals and I don’t want to eat sugar. Can I just have some peanuts? It is possible to buy your peanuts and grind them up and they taste great. I read recently that basically all processed foods have some kind of chemicals in them and also SUGAR. My experience has been that about anything in a can, bag or bottle has some kind of chemicals and that about 75% of those same items have SUGAR ADDED. Is it any wonder why we are all so fat, have gum disease, and get cancer???

The World Health Organization has now classified processed meat as a Group 1 carcinogen which means there is no denying that it is connected to various cancers. I also read that Potassium bromate, an ingredient known to be deadly and toxic to humans, has been allowed in flour since 1914. If I were you I would avoid all baked products that contain Potassium bromate. The sad part is that our government is allowing a lot of chemicals, additives, and preservatives to be added to our processed foods and that doesn’t count the SUGAR! I challenge you to PLEASE READ THE LABEL OF ANYTHING IN A JAR, PACKAGE, BOTTLE ETC. If you must buy some of that stuff, please try to buy the ones that have the least amount of all those things.

SUMMARY-It is obvious that your mouth is the window to your health. In my opinion, GOOD ORAL HYGIENE, EATING PALEO AND REGULAR EXERCISE COULD ADD YEARS OF HEALTHY LIVING TO YOUR LIFE, BUT PLEASE AVOID ALL PROCESSED FOODS WHENEVER POSSIBLE AS IT HAS BEEN SHOWN THAT
THERE IS PROBABLY A LINK TO CANCER AND A LOT OF OTHER DISEASES SUCH AS DECAY AND GUM DISEASE!! It’s never too late- Practice good oral hygiene, avoid sugar, and Go see your dentist and get back on track with regular cleanings. Follow that up by seeing your physician for a physical. EXERCISE 5 TIMES A WEEK FOR 30 MINUTES, EAT PALEO, AND BRUSH AND FLOSS DAILY!! Pay SPECIAL ATTENTION TO YOUR DIET AND YOUR ORAL HYGIENE.

“THE MOUTH IS THE WINDOW TO YOUR HEALTH”. BRUSH AND FLOSS TWICE DAILY, AVOID SUGAR FOR 2023, AND SEE YOUR DENTIST AND PHYSICIAN REGULARLY.
